Applications are currently being accepted for adjunct (part-time) faculty on a continuous basis. All faculty are expected to engage in effective teaching and assessment of student learning. During the application process you will let us know your preferred teaching disciplines and methods. Demonstrated expertise is required for teaching in the discipline associated with appointment as an adjunct faculty member. Depending on the discipline and department, teaching may be in-person or online.

What You'll Be Doing
• Delivering new or prepared inclusive instruction for assigned undergraduate or graduate courses across in-person, hybrid, or online formats
• Supporting student progress through clear communication, timely feedback, and accessible grading practices
• Aligning course delivery with departmental standards and EWU's curriculum framework
What You Bring
• Preferably a Master’s degree or higher in the relevant discipline
• Post-secondary teaching experience or equivalent professional practice
• A demonstrated ability to serve EWU's diverse, first-generation student population with equity-centered pedagogy
• Comfort working independently within a part-time faculty appointment
The Details
• Semester Adjunct Faculty will be compensated at least $1050 per credit.
• Quarterly Adjunct Faculty will be compensated at least $775 per credit.
• Quarterly online course teaching will be at least $900 per credit.
Faculty who are in an EWU paid appointment of at least 50% or more may become eligible for PEBB insurance on the first day of the month following the start of their second consecutive academic term.

Annual Security Report Notification

The Annual Safety and Fire Report is provided in accordance with the Jeanne Clery Act of 1998 and the associated amendments including the recently adopted Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2013. Per Federal Regulations (34 CFR Part 668), it is required that a copy of Eastern Washington University’s Clery Act Report, otherwise known as the Annual Security and Fire Report, be provided to each employee and student. This report includes statistical information for three previous calendar years concerning reported crimes which occurred on EWU’s campus; certain off-campus buildings or properties owned or controlled by EWU and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, EWU’s campus. The report also includes institutional policies concerning campus security issues, such as policies and or procedures concerning sexual assault, alcohol use, the Drug-Free Schools Act and other matters.
